The M3A1 White Scout Car was a light armored vehicle used by the US Army during World War II. It was developed by the White Motor Company in the late 1930s as a replacement for the older, unarmored scout cars in service at the time. The M3A1 was designed to be fast and agile, with a top speed of 50 mph and a range of 200 miles on a full tank of gas.
The M3A1 was lightly armored with a maximum thickness of 6mm, and was armed with a .50 caliber machine gun mounted on a ring mount on top of the vehicle. It had a crew of four, consisting of a driver, co-driver, and two gunners.
The M3A1 saw service in a variety of roles during World War II, including reconnaissance, security, and communications. It was also used by the British Army and other Allied forces.
Overall, the M3A1 White Scout Car was an important vehicle in the US Army's motorized reconnaissance units during World War II, and is still a popular subject for model kits and military history enthusiasts today.
