The Short SC.7 Skyvan is a distinctive British twin-engine transport aircraft, easily recognised by its boxy fuselage and high wing design.
Developed by Short Brothers in the 1960s, the Skyvan was built for short take-off and landing (STOL) performance, allowing it to operate from rough and unprepared airstrips.
Its large rear loading door and square cargo hold made it ideal for transporting freight, vehicles, and personnel, as well as for parachute training operations.
The Skyvan has been widely used by military forces, cargo operators, and humanitarian organisations around the world due to its reliability and versatility.
Despite its unconventional appearance, the aircraft is highly regarded for its rugged construction and practical design, earning it a lasting place in aviation history.
