This kit represents the F-35B as flown by VMFA-242 “Bats”, a Marine Fighter Attack Squadron based at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. Re-established as an F-35B unit in 2020, VMFA-242 plays a key role in Indo-Pacific operations, forward defence, and allied training missions.
