The Centurion was designed from top to bottom from combat lessons learned from the employment of earlier designs like Comet against the German Panzer forces. Arriving on the continent too late for combat at the end of World War II, the Centurion served as the tip of the spear with the British Army as well as with Commonwealth and many NATO armies.
Following on from the well received Centurion Mk. 5/1 RAAC, AFV Club have released the second in their Centurion series with this model of the Centurion Mk.5/2, 6 which were upgraded with the L7 105mm main gun.
The kits consists of 414 parts in olive drab plastic, 18 in clear plastic with a metal barrel, 6 large suspension springs, 26 vinyl tyres and the vinyl tracks plus a length of twine for the tow cable and a selection of vinyl poly caps with the decal sheet and small fret of etched parts.
The kit provides markings for five examples:
