The Willys MD, also known as the M38A1 Truck, Utility: 1/4 tonne, 4x4 or the G758 by its U.S. Army Standard Nomenclature supply catalogue designation, was a four-wheel drive military light utility vehicle produced by Willys and Willys Motors / Kaiser Jeep from 1952 to 1971. From 1952 to 1957, it was widely purchased by the US military, with purchases restricted to the US Marine Corps after that. The Marine version differed slightly from the other branches' units.
The MD was the first Willys jeep with a significantly restyled body, with its rounded hood and fenders instantly recognised. It was the foundation for the civilian and commercial Jeep CJ5, which was produced for three decades (1954–1980).
