The Mini Countryman WRC is a rally-bred version of the road-going Mini Countryman, developed to compete at the highest level of international rallying in the World Rally Championship. Introduced in 2011, it marked Mini’s return to top-tier rally competition for the first time since its iconic successes in the 1960s.
Developed by the British motorsport company Prodrive, the car was based on the Mini Countryman road model but heavily modified for rally performance.
It featured a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, four-wheel drive, and a lightweight yet highly reinforced body shell designed to withstand the extreme conditions of rally stages.
Behind the wheel, drivers like Dani Sordo and Kris Meeke pushed the car across gravel, tarmac, and snow, demonstrating its versatility and competitive spirit.
Although it faced tough competition from more established teams, the Mini Countryman WRC achieved notable podium finishes and showcased impressive pace.
The car’s bold styling, featuring aggressive aerodynamics and distinctive rally liveries, combined modern engineering with the heritage of the classic Mini brand.
Today, the Mini Countryman WRC is remembered as a striking and capable contender that brought Mini back into the global rally spotlight.
