The Avro Anson Mk.I was a British twin-engine aircraft that played a vital role during the early years of the Second World War, particularly in training and coastal defence duties.

Designed and built by A.V. Roe and Company, the Anson became one of the most widely used multi-role aircraft of its era.

Originally developed as a maritime reconnaissance aircraft for the Royal Air Force, the Anson Mk.I was equipped for coastal patrol, convoy escort, and light anti-submarine warfare.

As the war progressed, it became best known as an advanced trainer, preparing thousands of aircrew for service in bombers and other front-line aircraft.

Its forgiving handling and robust construction made it well suited to this demanding role.

The Anson Mk.I featured a distinctive glazed nose, retractable undercarriage, and a dorsal gun turret, along with accommodation for a multi-man crew.

Though modest in performance, it proved reliable and adaptable, serving not only with the RAF but also with Commonwealth and Allied air forces worldwide.

This model captures the characteristic lines and early-war appearance of the Avro Anson Mk.I, making it an excellent subject for modellers interested in RAF training aircraft, maritime patrol aviation, and historically significant British designs.
