The “One Small Step for Man” commemorates one of the greatest achievements in human history: humanity’s first steps on the Moon.
On 20 July 1969, astronauts of Apollo 11 successfully landed the Lunar Module Eagle on the Moon’s surface, marking a defining moment of the Space Age.
As Commander Neil Armstrong descended the ladder and stepped onto the lunar surface, his words—“That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind”—became instantly iconic.
Joined shortly after by Buzz Aldrin, the astronauts conducted scientific experiments, collected lunar samples, and planted the American flag, while Michael Collins orbited above in the Command Module.
The Apollo lunar landing symbolised human ingenuity, courage, and technological achievement, representing the culmination of years of research, engineering, and exploration.
