The Chieftain Main Battle Tank was one of the most formidable armoured vehicles of its era, serving as the backbone of the British Army from the 1960s through to the 1990s.

Designed with a focus on heavy firepower and crew protection, the Chieftain featured a powerful 120mm rifled gun capable of engaging enemy armour at long range with exceptional accuracy.

Its distinctive low-profile silhouette and heavily sloped armour provided enhanced survivability on the battlefield, while its advanced (for the time) fire control system allowed for effective target engagement in a variety of combat conditions.

Although not the fastest tank in its class, the Chieftain prioritised defensive strength and firepower over mobility, making it a dominant force in static and defensive roles.

The Chieftain saw service not only with the British Army but was also exported to several countries, including Iran, where it proved its effectiveness in real combat situations.
