The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was one of the most important British fighter aircraft of the early Second World War.

Designed by Sir Sydney Camm, the Hurricane entered service with the Royal Air Force in 1937 and quickly became the backbone of Fighter Command during the early years of the war.

Early production Hurricanes featured fabric-covered wings, a construction method inherited from earlier biplane designs.

Although later versions introduced metal wings, these early fabric-wing aircraft played a crucial role during the opening stages of the conflict and in the Battle of France and early Battle of Britain operations.

RAF fighters of the period carried distinctive camouflage patterns applied at the factory.

The 'B' Scheme camouflage pattern was one of two mirrored layouts used on Hurricanes and Spitfires, alternating between production batches to help break up aircraft shapes when seen from above.

This pattern combined the classic Dark Green and Dark Earth camouflage over Sky undersurfaces, providing effective concealment against the landscapes of Western Europe.

The Hawker Hurricane proved to be a rugged, stable gun platform armed with eight .303 Browning machine guns.

While often overshadowed by the Spitfire, Hurricanes were responsible for the majority of enemy aircraft destroyed during the Battle of Britain, cementing their place as one of the RAF’s most significant wartime fighters.

This model represents the early fabric-wing Hurricane Mk.I finished in the classic RAF 'B' Scheme camouflage, making it an excellent choice for modellers interested in early WWII RAF fighters and Battle of Britain aircraft.
