This Arma Hobby 1/72 scale kit accurately recreates the P-51K Mustang, the Dallas-built variant of North American Aviation’s legendary fighter. While closely related to the well-known P-51D, the K-model is distinguished by its Aeroproducts propeller and subtle canopy differences, giving it a unique identity among late-war Mustangs.

History
The P-51K Mustang was produced alongside the P-51D at North American Aviation’s Dallas plant. Although externally similar, the K-model was fitted with an Aeroproducts propeller and incorporated minor equipment and canopy variations. Powered by the Packard-built Merlin engine, it retained the Mustang’s renowned long-range capability and high-altitude performance.

P-51Ks saw extensive service late in the Second World War, particularly in the Pacific theatre, where their range and reliability proved invaluable. Many aircraft continued in post-war service, making the P-51K an important and often overlooked chapter in the Mustang’s enduring legacy.
