The Porsche 935 K2, entered as car #45 at the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans, was a striking example of turbocharged power and privateer determination.
Campaigned by the legendary Kremer Racing team, the K2 was an evolution of Porsche’s factory 935, modified for improved aerodynamics and performance in long-distance endurance racing.
Powered by a fearsome 3.0L twin-turbo flat-six engine, the 935 K2 delivered over 700 horsepower to the rear wheels, wrapped in an aggressive wide-body silhouette with signature slant-nose styling.
Car #45 represented the spirit of independent teams pushing the limits against factory-backed giants on the world’s toughest racing stage.
Though it didn’t take the podium that year, the #45 car’s presence at Le Mans stood as a testament to the resilience and engineering skill of Kremer Racing.
Today, it remains a fan-favorite for its bold livery, raw power, and role in Porsche’s rich endurance racing legacy.
