The Honda Civic EF9 Group A from the 1991 JTC (Japan Touring Car Championship) InterTEC race is a celebrated icon in motorsport, representing Honda’s engineering prowess in the early 90s.

The EF9 model is part of the fourth-generation Civic, known for its lightweight chassis and advanced VTEC technology, making it highly competitive in the Group A touring car class.

The car was powered by a 1.6-liter B16A inline-4 engine equipped with Honda’s revolutionary DOHC VTEC system, capable of producing around 170 horsepower in its race-tuned form.

Though modest by modern standards, this output, combined with the car's lightweight frame (around 950 kg), made it incredibly agile and quick, especially in the corners.

The EF9’s chassis was modified for better aerodynamics and downforce, with racing-specific enhancements like a wider track, lowered suspension, and high-performance tires to maximize grip on the track.
