The Akagi, a symbol of Japanese naval power during World War II, was one of the most iconic aircraft carriers of its time.

Commissioned in 1927, it played a pivotal role in Japan's early victories in the Pacific theater, including the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Named after Mount Akagi, a prominent volcano in Japan, the carrier was a formidable warship, boasting a large flight deck and the capacity to carry a significant complement of aircraft.
