The Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E Tiger I was one of the most feared and iconic tanks of the Second World War.
Introduced in late 1942, the Initial Production variant represented the earliest configuration of this formidable heavy tank, designed to dominate the battlefield with its combination of thick armour and devastating firepower.
Powered by a Maybach HL210 P45 V-12 petrol engine, the Tiger I featured up to 100 mm of frontal armour and was armed with the legendary 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 gun, capable of destroying most Allied armour at extreme ranges.
The initial production vehicles can be recognised by their distinctive features, including early-style drum cupola, rubber-tyred road wheels, Feifel air filtration system, and lack of Zimmerit anti-magnetic paste.
These tanks first saw combat on the Eastern Front near Leningrad and in North Africa with schwere Panzer-Abteilung 501, where their long-range accuracy and armour protection quickly earned them a fearsome reputation.
Despite their weight and mechanical complexity, the Tiger I Initial Production set the standard for German heavy armour and became a symbol of battlefield supremacy in the early 1940s.
