The Vultee Vanguard Mk I was an early American monoplane fighter developed in the late 1930s for export markets.

Though not adopted by the U.S. military, it found limited use with several foreign air forces.

Featuring a sleek, low-wing design and all-metal construction, it was powered by a Wright R-1820 radial engine and armed with a combination of machine guns.

While it offered good speed and modern styling for its time, the Vanguard's operational impact was minimal due to rapid advancements in aircraft technology during WWII.

Nonetheless, it stands as an example of pre-war American aviation innovation aimed at global markets.
