The Vollkettenaufklärer 38 w/7.5cm Kanone 51 L/24, often abbreviated as VK 38 or VK 38/7.5cm, was a German armored reconnaissance vehicle developed during World War II.
It was a versatile and heavily armored platform built on a fully tracked chassis, offering exceptional off-road mobility.
At its core, the VK 38 featured a formidable 7.5cm Kanone 51 L/24, which was a 7.5-centimeter caliber cannon with a 51-caliber barrel length.
This powerful gun provided the vehicle with a potent anti-tank capability, making it effective in engaging enemy armored units.
The primary role of the VK 38 was to conduct reconnaissance missions, gathering vital intelligence on enemy movements and positions.
Its robust design allowed it to operate in various terrains, providing valuable information to German forces during different stages of the war.
Despite its promising design, the VK 38 never reached mass production, and only a limited number of prototypes were built.
The project was eventually abandoned in favor of other armored vehicles that better suited the changing needs of the German military.
