The Messerschmitt Bf 108 Taifun was a German single-engine, four-seat sport and touring aircraft designed in the mid-1930s.
Originally built for civilian use, its all-metal monoplane design with retractable landing gear made it advanced for its time.
Powered by an Argus As 10 inverted V-8 engine, the Bf 108 was fast, reliable, and had excellent range, earning fame in long-distance air races.
During the Second World War it was widely employed by the Luftwaffe as a liaison, personnel transport, and training aircraft.
Its sleek lines and performance also directly influenced the development of the famous Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter.
