The Bedford OYD was a robust 3-ton, 4x2 general service truck used extensively by the British Armed Forces during World War II.
Introduced in 1939, it was adapted from Bedford’s civilian O-series, featuring a simplified design tailored for military needs.
Powered by a reliable 6-cylinder petrol engine, the OYD was known for its durability and versatility in transporting troops, equipment, and supplies across various theaters of war.
This version features the early wooden cargo body, a hallmark of initial wartime production before shortages gave way to metal-bodied variants.
With a top speed of around 40 mph and a range of approximately 280 miles, the Bedford OYD proved to be a dependable workhorse on the battlefield.
