The German 4x4 7.5cm Pak 40 Anti-Tank Gun Tractor C8, often referred to as the "Beutewagen," was a captured British utility vehicle repurposed by the German military during World War II.
Acquired through various means such as battlefield capture or supply agreements, the C8 proved to be a versatile platform for towing the formidable 7.5cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun, enhancing the mobility and effectiveness of German anti-tank units.
The Beutewagen featured a rugged 4x4 design, enabling it to traverse a variety of terrains encountered on the battlefield with relative ease.
Its robust construction and reliable drivetrain made it well-suited for towing heavy artillery pieces like the Pak 40, which was renowned for its effectiveness against Allied tanks.
Adaptations were made to the Beutewagen to accommodate its new role, including modifications to the towing apparatus and additional stowage space for ammunition and crew equipment.
Despite being originally designed by the British, the C8 proved to be a capable and reliable platform for German anti-tank operations.
