The Wi-Fi enabled Gopro Hero 3 Black Edition is the most advanced Gopro ever produced. The Black Edition is 30% smaller, 25% lighter and has 2 times the power of previous Gopro cameras. The Black Edition is wearable or gear mountable within its waterproof housing which will keep the camera safe to 197 feet (60m) deep, while still being able to capture ultra-wide 1440p 48fps, 1080p 60 fps and 720p 120 fps video and 12MP photos at a rate of up to 30 photos per second!

The Gopro Hero 3 Black Edition allows video capture at 1080p-60 fps, 720p-120 fps, WVGA 240 fps, 960p-100 fps and 1440p-48 fps; there is an option to shoot in the ultra-high resolution 2.7KP 30 fps and 4KP 15 fps (Protune only) video modes. The 2.7 and 4KP modes offers professional cinema quality video at 2 times the resolution and 2 times the frame rate of previous models while delivering 2 times better low light performance.

The performance on the Black Edition is 3 times improved over the previous Gopro cameras, now boasting a 12MP burst capture at a 30 frames per second with 2 times better low light performance compared to the previous models. Still photo and time lapse photo modes remain the same but are now joined by a new continuous photo mode which will allow continuous capture of 12MP stills at a steady 3, 5, or 10 photo-per-second rate, up to 30 photos at a time.

The new 6-element aspherical lens combines with user-selectable Ultra-wide, Medium and Narrow field-of-views deliver more perspective and capture options than ever before with reduced distortion. The totally updated flat-lens on the waterproof housing helps to deliver a stunning image.

The Gopro 3 Black Edition features built-in Wi-Fi and included in this kit is the Gopro's Wi-Fi remote control. The hero 3's built in Wi-Fi means it can also be controlled by iOS smartphones and tablets running the GoPro App from a distance of up to 600 feet away.
