The Mitsubishi Colt Galant GTO-MR is a sports car that was produced by Mitsubishi Motors in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It is part of the Galant series, which was introduced in 1969 as a mid-size car. The GTO-MR variant was introduced in 1970 as a more performance-oriented version of the Galant.
The GTO-MR features a sleek and aerodynamic design, with a long hood, short rear deck, and fastback roofline. It is powered by a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 125 horsepower, which was a considerable amount of power for a car of its size at the time. The engine is mated to a five-speed manual transmission, which provides precise and sporty shifting.
The GTO-MR also features a sport-tuned suspension, larger disc brakes, and wider tires, which help to improve handling and grip. Inside, the car features a simple and functional dashboard layout, with a three-spoke steering wheel and bucket seats that provide good support during spirited driving.
The GTO-MR was well-received by enthusiasts at the time, and is now considered a classic sports car. Its rarity and unique styling have made it a sought-after collectible, and well-maintained examples can command high prices at auction.
