The Volkswagen Transporter (also known as the VW T1, VW Bus, or VW Samba) is a German van passenger car that debuted in 1949.
Its manufacture began a year later, in 1950, and continues now.
It took held in a number of places around the world, including Emden and Hanover in Germany, as well as Pozna, Poland.
The Volkswagen AG business designed and put into production the Transporter model in order to expand its commercial offering and enter the vans category.
The car was built on a Beetle model's reinforced chassis and platform.
A lot of the equipment was also borrowed from this model.
The car's earliest incarnations were notable for their unique look, basic construction, and inexpensive purchase and operating expenses.
Engines with a capacity of 1.1 to 1.6 litres and a power output of 25-47 horsepower were first employed as the drive.
The original generation of the car, which was produced from 1950 to 1967, was extremely popular and earned the loving nickname "Cucumber."
Significant changes have occurred in the Transporter model, particularly from the fourth generation, when the design, driving units, and the location of the engine have all altered (from the rear part of the car it was moved to the front).
The most recent generation debuted in 2015.
