Hataka Orange Line – Israeli Air Force Paint Set (Early Period) # CS34
Orange Line – Lacquer Based Paints
Standard colours of Israeli aircraft from 1948 till 1967
In the early years of independence Israeli Air Force used a variety of camouflages – the first aircraft used a scheme of unspecified green and brown colours, later supplemented by standard RAF colours used on Spitfires and natural metal finish of Mustangs and Mosquitoes.
Avia S-199 was the only type painted in Reed Green.
In 1955 a new standard camouflage of Grey-Blue and Medium Brown over Silk Grey was introduced for use on all IAF aircraft except for so-called „leading fighters” that used overall aluminium (natural metal) finish instead.
Contains the following colours (lacquer based paints, optimised for use with airbrush):
HTK-C170 – Reed Green – RAL6013, overall colour of Avia S-199s (Czechoslovakian copy of Bf 109G with Junkers Jumo 211 F engine) – first fighters of IAF
HTK-C171 – Grey-Blue – RAL5008, used for upper surfaces in standard camouflage of IAF used from 1955 till 1967 on all types of aircraft (excl. leading fighters)
HTK-C172 – Medium Brown – FS30215, used for upper surfaces in standard camouflage of IAF used from 1955 till 1967 on all types of aircraft (excl. leading fighters)
HTK-C173 – Silk Grey – RAL7044, used for lower surfaces in standard camouflage of IAF used from 1955 till 1967 on all types of aircraft (excl. leading fighters)
HTK-C030 – European I Grey – FS36081, used for lower surfaces in camouflage scheme of IAFs Gloster Meteor NF-13s (with standard colours on upper surfaces)
HTK-C078 – Aluminium – Standard colour of early IAF’s P-51Ds and Mosquito PRs and FBs. Later overall colour of leading fighter interceptors of IAF
