The Mikoyan MiG-29UB is a two-seat, twin-engine jet fighter aircraft developed in the Soviet Union in the 1970s. It was designed by the Mikoyan Design Bureau as a trainer version of the MiG-29 single-seat fighter. The "UB" in its designation stands for "Uchebno-Boyevoy," which translates to "training-combat" in Russian.
The MiG-29UB was widely exported to various countries, including those in Eastern Europe. After the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993, the Czech Republic and Slovakia each established their own independent air forces. Both countries inherited a number of military assets, including MiG-29UB aircraft, from the former Czechoslovak Air Force.
The MiG-29UB was used by both the Czech Air Force and the Slovak Air Force for training purposes. These aircraft were an essential part of their military aviation capabilities, allowing pilots to train for combat scenarios and familiarize themselves with the handling of the MiG-29 fighter jet.
