The M48A2 Patton was an upgraded variant of the American M48 Patton main battle tank (MBT), introduced in the 1950s during the Cold War.

It featured a 90mm M41 gun, providing effective firepower against armored threats.

The M48A2 was powered by a Continental AVSI-1790-8 V12 gasoline engine paired with a new cross-drive transmission, offering improved mobility and reliability compared to earlier models.

Additional upgrades included an enhanced fire control system, a redesigned engine deck, and improved suspension.

Although later replaced by more advanced models, the M48A2 Patton saw extensive service with U.S. forces and allied nations, playing a significant role in Cold War defense strategies.
