Italeri 1/35 Pz. Kpfw. VI Tiger I Ausf. E (tp) Early Production # 6767
The Pz. Kpfw. VI Tiger I Ausf. E (tp) Early Production represents one of the most formidable German heavy tanks of the Second World War.
Introduced in 1942, the Tiger I was designed to counter increasingly powerful Allied armour and quickly gained a fearsome reputation on the battlefield.
Its combination of thick armour and the powerful 88mm KwK 36 L/56 gun allowed it to engage and destroy enemy tanks at long range while remaining difficult to penetrate in return.
Early production Tigers featured distinctive characteristics such as drum-style commander’s cupolas, Feifel air cleaners for desert operations, and rubber-rimmed road wheels.
These vehicles first saw combat on the Eastern Front and later in North Africa, where their heavy armour and superior firepower gave German crews a significant tactical advantage over many Allied tanks of the period.
The Tiger I’s complex engineering and heavy weight made it demanding to maintain, but when properly supported it proved highly effective in combat.
Its imposing design, battlefield performance, and legendary status among armoured vehicles have made the Tiger I Ausf. E one of the most iconic tanks of the Second World War and a favourite subject among military historians and model builders alike.

| Short Description | The Panzerkampfwagen VI Ausf. Tiger I is certainly one of the most famous tanks of the Second World War. It was developed to provide the Wehrmacht’s armoured divisions with a heavily armoured and heavily armed tank to operate alongside the more widespread Panzer III and Panzer IV medium tanks, which were no longer able to effectively counter enemy tanks. The first versions were deployed in combat at the end of 1942 on the Eastern Front near Leningrad and on the African Front during the Tunisian campaign in the early months of 1943. Its main armament consisted of the famous and lethal long-barrelled 88 mm KwK 36 L/56 anti-tank gun. Mounted in the turret and protected by a heavy 120 mm gun mantlet, it was capable of penetrating the armour of any enemy vehicle of the time, even at long range. - Scale is 1/35 |
