During the Middle Ages, Burgundy was a powerful duchy that relied heavily on its military forces. Burgundian Sergeants and Archers were important components of the ducal army.
Burgundian Sergeants were professional soldiers who served as the core of the ducal army. They were typically armored with chainmail and equipped with swords, spears, and shields. They were trained to fight on foot and were skilled in close combat.
Burgundian Archers were also professional soldiers who were trained in the use of the longbow. They were typically lightly armored and were used to provide ranged support to the ducal army. Burgundian Archers were known for their accuracy and could rain down a deadly barrage of arrows on enemy forces.
Together, Burgundian Sergeants and Archers formed a formidable fighting force that was capable of winning battles against much larger armies. Their skills and tactics were highly valued, and they played an important role in Burgundian military successes during the Middle Ages.
