Meng 1/35 British Main Battle Tank Chieftain Mk10 # 051
The Birth of the “Chieftain”: The Final Chapter
In six years, what can happen?
It took 6 years from the start of World War II to the finish, and the Centurion tank took the same amount of time to build and enter service.
It's been 6 years since Meng published The Birth of the "Chieftain" essay.
We are finally able to present this model kit to you after 6 years of hard work.
In the late 1950s, the Chieftain was a second-generation British main battle tank.
Between the 1960s and the 1980s, it was the British Army's major piece of equipment, with numerous variations.
As the priority was given to the firepower and protection, this tank was equipped with the then-most advanced 120mm L11A5 rifled gun in the world.
The gun’s excellent performance made Chieftain famous.
The front and turret of the hull were made of thick cast armour.
Starting with Mk10, the tanks received the Stillbrew add-on armour for added protection.
The later installation of the 750 hp engine also improved the weak mobility of earlier variants.
After assembly, the MENG TS-051 1/35 British Main Battle Tank Chieftain Mk10 model will measure 302mm in length and 104.5mm in width.
Precision PE pieces and two paint schemes are included in this kit.
Let's look at the specifics now.
1. The breakdown of Stillbrew composite armor follows its installation on the real vehicle.
2. The gun mantlet cover and gun barrel thermal sleeve are designed by digital sculpting.
3. The infrared searchlight has internal construction.
4. The horizontal spring suspension and shock absorbers are accurately replicated.
5. This kit includes easy-to-assemble single-pin workable tracks.
6. All crew hatches can be built open or closed.
7. Clear lights, observation ports and optical sight parts are included.
