The All-Around / Row-Crop Standard Tractor (1936) represents a key stage in the mechanisation of agriculture during the inter-war period.
Designed to be versatile and economical, this type of tractor was intended to handle a wide range of farm tasks, from ploughing and harrowing to cultivating crops planted in rows such as maize, cotton, and vegetables.
Row-crop tractors of the mid-1930s typically featured an adjustable front axle and elevated ground clearance, allowing the machine to pass between crop rows without damaging plants.
Narrow front wheels or a tricycle configuration were common, improving manoeuvrability and visibility for the operator during precision field work.
Power was usually provided by a simple, robust petrol or kerosene engine, chosen for reliability and ease of maintenance in rural environments.
