The BZ-35S fuel truck was a Soviet military tanker vehicle widely used during the Second World War to supply fuel to frontline units, aircraft, and armoured vehicles.
Built on the reliable American Studebaker US6 2½-ton truck chassis, these vehicles were supplied to the Soviet Union through the Lend-Lease programme and quickly became one of the most trusted transport platforms in Red Army service.
The Studebaker US6 was prized for its robust construction, powerful engine, and excellent off-road capability, making it ideal for operating in the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front.
The BZ-35S tanker variant featured a large cylindrical fuel tank mounted on the rear chassis along with pumping equipment designed to rapidly refuel vehicles and aircraft in the field.
These fuel trucks played a crucial logistical role, keeping Soviet mechanised forces and aviation units operational across vast distances.
Their combination of American engineering and Soviet field modifications made them a common sight throughout the later years of the war.
