The PMZ-2 fire engine was a Soviet firefighting vehicle developed during the Second World War to provide rapid response fire protection for military bases, industrial facilities, and airfields.
Built on the robust Studebaker US6 truck chassis, these vehicles combined American Lend-Lease engineering with Soviet firefighting equipment.
The Studebaker US6 proved to be one of the most reliable trucks supplied to the Soviet Union during the war.
Its powerful engine, strong chassis, and excellent off-road capability made it ideal for a wide range of military roles, including supply transport, artillery towing, and specialist service vehicles such as fire engines.
The PMZ-2 variant was equipped with a firefighting pump system, hose reels, water tank, and ladders, allowing crews to quickly respond to fires caused by air raids, accidents, or combat operations.
These vehicles were commonly deployed at military airfields, depots, and strategic facilities, where fire protection was critical for maintaining operational readiness.
Combining practical Soviet firefighting equipment with the dependable Studebaker platform, the PMZ-2 became an important support vehicle during the later years of the war.
This model represents the distinctive PMZ-2 fire engine based on the Studebaker US6, making it an excellent addition to World War II Soviet support vehicle collections or airfield dioramas.
