The Boeing E-3A Sentry, commonly known as AWACS (Airborne Warning and Control System), is one of the most recognisable and strategically important airborne command and control aircraft in modern military aviation.
Developed by Boeing, the E-3A is based on the proven Boeing 707 airframe and is instantly identified by its large rotating radar dome (rotodome) mounted above the fuselage.
