With a top speed of Mach 2.0+ the Eurofighter dominates both long and close range air combat and also has a ground attack capability. It is primarily designed as a fighter for protecting the air space and for this purpose is equipped with a combination of weapons including powerful short and medium range air-to-air missiles.
