The Northrop F-89 Scorpion was a pioneering American jet-powered interceptor aircraft designed during the early years of the Cold War.

Developed by Northrop Corporation, the F-89 Scorpion first took flight in 1948 and became a key component of the United States Air Force's air defense strategy.
