The Sd.Kfz.250/1 Ausf.B (Neue Ausführung) was a lightweight German half-track armoured personnel carrier used extensively by the Wehrmacht during the Second World War.
Designed to provide fast and reliable transport for reconnaissance units and infantry support teams, the vehicle combined excellent mobility with compact dimensions, making it highly effective across a wide variety of battlefield conditions.
The Ausf.B “Neue Ausführung” introduced a simplified hull design compared to earlier versions, reducing production complexity while improving manufacturing efficiency during wartime.
Armed with machine guns for defensive firepower, the Sd.Kfz.250/1 was commonly employed for scouting missions, command duties, communications, and transporting small infantry squads close to the front lines.
Its distinctive open-top layout, angled armour plating, and tracked rear suspension gave the vehicle impressive off-road capability while maintaining good road speed.
Serving on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, the Sd.Kfz.250/1 became one of Germany’s most recognisable light half-tracks of the war.
