To challenge the 1983 season, Yamaha drew out the YZR 500(OW70). Beginning with a two-cycle, water-cooled, four-barrel motor, the YZR500 was furnished with a wealth of inventive mechanics. Its four chambers were isolated into an upper and lower gathering comprising of two barrels each. Crankshafts were appended to every gathering, giving an extraordinary V-formed design. With the upper gathering situated at a 40 degree edge and the lower gathering set on a level plane, it brags a low focal point of gravity. The conservativeness of the motor was further improved by the perfect arrangement of the carburetor between the two gatherings of barrels. The motor was outfitted with Yamaha's elite force valve framework (YPVS) and puts out more than 140hp. Separating from the broadly utilized twofold support style, Yamaha softened new ground up aluminum casing plan and made ready for the later Deltabox outline. The topsy-turvy state of the casing associate the turn purposes of the guiding head and the back swing arm to make for a strong yet lightweight understructure. Tadahiko Taira and Keiji Kinoshita, both riding YZR bikes, tested the All Japan Road Race and gave Japan a look of their rate. Taira continued to take the 1983 Series Title and effectively shield it throughout the following two years. The pride and delight of Japanese cruiser dashing, Taira later went on the test the best in the World Grand Prix Championships.
