Tamiya UK proudly displayed this model at the 2009 IPMS (International Plastic Modellers Society) show in Telford and we could not believe what we saw, the detail is amazing! 2 years in the making by Tamiya.
The sleek form of the aircraft with its slim fuselage and elliptical wings are richly remodeled.
The Large scale enables an accurate highly detailed reproduction of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and cockpit.
0.4mm thick engine cowlings allow for a fully-accurate scale presentation of the engine.
Panel lines and rivet details provide exquisite realism.
The Spitfire protected Britain against the ferocious attacks of the Luftwaffe during the Battle of Britain, which proved to be a crucial point in the turning of WWII. After this battle, the Spitfire continually evolved and fought until the end of the war. One of the many variants was the Mk.IXc, which was equipped with a new Rolls-Royce Merlin 60 series engine for superior performance and went on to successfully reclaim air superiority over the Luftwaffe. Tamiya's exciting new model is the first ever 1/32 scale full-injection molded assembly kit and features unparalleled accuracy, making it a must-have for aircraft modelers around the world.
