The Bergepanzer Hetzer with 2cm Flak Early Production was a specialized armored recovery vehicle developed during World War II, based on the chassis of the Hetzer tank destroyer.
This unique variant was designed for the dual purpose of recovering damaged vehicles on the battlefield and providing anti-aircraft defense.
At its core, the Bergepanzer Hetzer featured the compact and agile chassis of the Hetzer tank destroyer, which allowed it to navigate challenging terrain effectively.
The vehicle was equipped with a 2cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun, mounted in a fixed position.
This small-caliber anti-aircraft gun was effective against low-flying aircraft and infantry targets, making the Bergepanzer Hetzer a versatile asset on the battlefield.
In its recovery role, this early production variant was equipped with a winch and other tools to assist in the retrieval and repair of damaged tanks and vehicles.
