The BAC/EE Lightning F.2A/F.6 was one of Britain’s most iconic Cold War interceptors, famed for its blistering speed, twin-engine vertical climb, and distinctive stacked engine design. Operated by the Royal Air Force, the Lightning was built to defend UK airspace at a moment’s notice, armed with powerful radar and air-to-air missiles.
This Trumpeter 1/72 scale kit (#01654) captures the sleek lines and aggressive stance of this legendary aircraft, offering the option to build either the F.2A or F.6 variant. The kit features finely moulded recessed panel lines, and a well-detailed cockpit, making it an excellent choice for both intermediate and experienced modellers.
With approximately 80+ parts including clear components and authentic markings for RAF aircraft, this model builds into a striking representation of one of Britain’s fastest fighters.
Paints and glue are required to complete the model and are sold separately.
