Hannibal's veterans refer to the soldiers who served under the Carthaginian general Hannibal Barca during the Second Punic War (218-201 BCE). Hannibal was one of Carthage's most celebrated military commanders and is renowned for his audacious strategies and tactics against the Roman Republic.
Hannibal's veterans were battle-hardened soldiers who had fought in numerous engagements under his leadership. They were known for their discipline, resilience, and loyalty to their commander. Many of these veterans had experienced the grueling campaigns across the Italian peninsula, most notably the famous crossing of the Alps with elephants, which remains one of Hannibal's most remarkable military achievements.

As a young boy I studied Rome
The Punic Wars was not between Rome and Carthage it was between Rome and Decabalus who was king of Dacia ( present day Romania) as the Punic Wars was when Emperor Trajan was over the empire but the Carthaginian Wars was when Rome was a Republic and it was fought between Hannibal and Scipio- ( Publius Cornelius Scipio- conquerer of Africa not Romania. As The Punic wars was the last major conquest before Emperor Hadrian ( who built Hadrian’s Wall ) and the Carthaginian Wars was before Christ came ( bc) they have got the wrong title on the box…
