The Boeing 707-120 marked the dawn of the jet age in commercial aviation. Introduced in the late 1950s, this early variant was the first production model of Boeing's iconic 707 series.
Powered by four Pratt & Whitney JT3C turbojet engines, the 707-120 was designed for medium to long-haul routes and could accommodate around 137 passengers in a typical two-class layout.
Its sleek swept-wing design, advanced for the era, allowed for significantly faster and higher-altitude travel compared to piston-engine airliners.
The 707-120 was first delivered to Pan American World Airways in 1958 and quickly became a symbol of luxury and speed, changing the face of global air travel.
This early version featured a shorter fuselage and narrower wingspan than later models, making it distinctive among the 707 family.
