In the late 1930s, the Soviet BT-7 cavalry tank was equipped with a В-2 diesel engine.

The modernized modification was called the BT-7M and was produced until September 1940.

The more economical diesel engine not only reduced the tank's fire hazard, but also increased the tank's cruising range by two and a half times.
