Zvezda 1/35 ZIL-130 Soviet Truck # 3712
The ZIL-130 was one of the most recognisable and widely used trucks of the Soviet Union, produced in Moscow from 1962 until the mid-1990s.
Renowned for its durability, simplicity, and versatility, it became the backbone of Soviet and later Russian transport fleets for over three decades.
Powered by a robust 6.0-litre V8 petrol engine, the ZIL-130 was capable of carrying payloads of up to 5 tons while maintaining good road performance.
Its distinctive cab-over design with a rounded bonnet, wide grille, and sky-blue paintwork (in early production models) made it instantly identifiable on roads across the USSR and beyond.
The ZIL-130 served in countless roles: flatbed cargo hauler, fuel tanker, fire engine, crane platform, and military logistics vehicle.
Its rugged construction and ease of maintenance allowed it to perform reliably in harsh climates—from frozen Siberia to arid Central Asia.
Even after production ceased, many ZIL-130s remained in service well into the 21st century, a testament to the truck’s toughness and practical design.
Today, it is remembered not only as a workhorse of Soviet industry and agriculture but also as an enduring icon of Cold War-era transport.

| Short Description | The ZIL-130 truck became one of the most popular trucks in the history of the Russian automobile industry. The first five trucks were built in 1962, and mass production continued at the Moscow plant from 1963 to 1994. During this time, over 3.3 million vehicles were produced. The truck was equipped with an 8-cylinder carburetor V-shaped engine with a capacity of 150 hp, power steering and a three-seater cabin. The truck was widely used in the national economy and in the army. In the process of modernisation on the ZIL-130-76 modification (produced since 1977), the chassis life was brought up to 300 thousand km, and payload was raised to 6 tons. In 1978, the machine received a new radiator grille and a number of other exterior changes and since 1980 three position lights are installed on the top of cabin. The ZIL-130 was produced in this form until 1983. - Scale is 1/35 |
