HMS Dreadnought was a revolutionary battleship of the Royal Navy that entered service in 1906.

It marked a significant shift in naval architecture and warfare, giving its name to an entire class of battleships known as "dreadnoughts."

The Dreadnought featured an all-big-gun armament scheme with ten 12-inch guns, a departure from the mixed-caliber armament of previous battleships.

It also employed steam turbine propulsion, which provided greater speed and efficiency compared to older reciprocating engines.

The introduction of HMS Dreadnought rendered all existing battleships obsolete and sparked a naval arms race among the world's great powers, profoundly influencing naval strategy and ship design in the early 20th century.
