The Golden Horde refers to the Northwestern part of the Mongol Empire established after the death of Genghis Khan in 1227.

The leadership of the Golden Horde played a crucial role in shaping the political landscape of Eastern Europe during the 13th and 14th centuries.
Under the leadership of notable figures like Batu Khan, the Golden Horde conducted successful military campaigns, including the famous Battle of Mohi in 1241, which expanded their influence into Eastern Europe.
The Mongols brought a mix of fear and awe as they rapidly conquered and controlled vast territories. The administration of the Golden Horde was characterized by a mix of Mongol and Turkic traditions.
Over time, the Golden Horde began to fracture into smaller khanates and faced internal conflicts.
It gradually lost its dominance, and by the late 15th century, it had largely disintegrated, giving rise to various successor states.
