The Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero was a legendary carrier-based fighter aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during World War II.
Introduced in 1940, the A6M2 variant was renowned for its exceptional maneuverability, long range, and lightweight design.
Powered by a Nakajima Sakae radial engine, it was equipped with two 7.7 mm machine guns and two 20 mm cannons, giving it formidable firepower for its time.
The Zero dominated the early Pacific air battles, outclassing Allied aircraft in speed and agility.
However, its lack of armor and self-sealing fuel tanks became major weaknesses as the war progressed.
Despite this, the A6M2 earned a fearsome reputation and became an enduring symbol of Japanese air power in the early years of the conflict.
