The Morane-Saulnier MS.406C1 was a French-built monoplane fighter that saw extensive use during the early stages of WWII.

In Finnish service, it gained fame during the Winter War and Continuation War against the Soviet Union.

Though underpowered by later standards, Finnish pilots made remarkable use of the aircraft’s agility and ruggedness.

Scoring numerous kills, Finnish aces like Ilmari Juutilainen and Urho Lehtovaara flew the MS.406 with deadly effectiveness, proving that skill could overcome superior enemy numbers and equipment.
