Fallschirmjäger, translated as "paratroopers" in English, were elite airborne troops of the German military during World War II.

Renowned for their specialized training, courage, and versatility, Fallschirmjäger units were tasked with conducting airborne operations behind enemy lines, seizing key objectives, and disrupting enemy communications and supply lines.

Equipped with light weapons and often transported by transport aircraft such as the Ju 52, Fallschirmjäger units were highly mobile and capable of rapid deployment.

They played significant roles in numerous major battles and operations throughout the war, including the invasions of Crete, Sicily, and the Netherlands, as well as defensive actions on the Eastern and Western Fronts.

Fallschirmjäger were respected by both allies and adversaries for their combat effectiveness and tenacity in battle, earning a reputation as elite soldiers of the German military.
