Datsun Sunny is a car that was produced from 1966 to 2006 by Nissan, a Japanese automaker.

The name was changed from Datsun to Nissan in the early 1980s to match the company's other models.

Although production of the Sunny ceased in Japan in 2006, the brand is still used in China and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for a rebadged Nissan Almera.

The subsequent models were known in North America as the Nissan Sentra; in Mexico, the Sunny is known as the Nissan Tsuru, which is Japanese for "crane."

The latest Sunny models were larger than the earlier variants and may be classified as compact vehicles.

Earlier models were subcompact automobiles (at least until the B11 series).

Except as mentioned below, all Sunnys used Nissan A engine motors through the 1982 model year.

It was created to take on the Toyota Corolla.
